Besakih And Karangasem Guided Tour, Bali

Your first stop is at KertaGosa, located in Klungkung, built by DewaAgung Gusto Sideman and used as the Hall of Justice in the 18th century. Traditional intricate "wayang" paintings depicting visions of heaven and hell can be seen on the ceiling.

Continue onward to the next location and on the way admire the view of carefully tended rice terraces with the sea glistening in the distance. Visit Besakih Temple, sitting at almost 1000 meters above sea level. It is considered the Mother Temple of Bali and is believed to be a site where offerings to the god of Mount Agung were made.

Finally come up to Tenganan Village and see how little time has stood still within the confines of the village. The village is one of the original Bali "Aga" villages where traditions have changes little over the centuries. Then, proceed to Kusamba through the CandiDasa beach resort, followed by Goa Lawah (Bat Cave) where the walls of the cave literally vibrate with thousand of Bats. The cave is considered to be holy, with shrines and a temple protecting to entrance.
